Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Atlantic Evalumax Inspectors
1. What does a home inspection include?
A home inspection covers a comprehensive assessment of a property’s major systems and components, including the foundation, roof, exterior, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, attic, basement, and interior spaces. We check for safety hazards, structural issues, and potential repairs to help buyers and sellers make informed decisions.
2. How long does a home inspection take?
A typical home inspection takes between 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on the size, age, and condition of the property. Larger or older homes may take longer due to more components requiring evaluation.
3. Do I need to be present for the home inspection?
While it’s not required, we highly recommend that you attend the inspection. This allows you to see any potential issues firsthand, ask questions, and better understand the condition of the property.
4. How soon will I receive my inspection report?
You will receive your detailed inspection report within 24 hours - 48 hours after the inspection. The report includes photos, descriptions of findings, and recommendations for repairs or further evaluation.
5. Do you offer water quality testing?
Yes, we provide home water quality testing to assess the safety and quality of your drinking water. This includes testing for bacteria, lead, nitrates, and other contaminants.
6. Do you inspect for radon or carbon monoxide?
Currently, we do not offer radon or carbon monoxide testing as part of our home inspections. However, we can provide guidance on how to get your home tested if you have concerns.
7. Can I schedule an inspection on short notice?
We do our best to accommodate last-minute requests, but availability depends on our schedule. We recommend booking your inspection at least a few days in advance to secure your preferred time.
8. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept E-transfer as our primary payment method. Payment is required before the release of your final inspection report.
9. Do you offer attic insulation installation?
Yes, we offer attic insulation installation services to improve your home's energy efficiency and comfort. We can assess your current insulation levels and recommend solutions tailored to your needs.
